Conrad Heating ENR was established in 1959 By Joe Conrad and Lou Conrad.

Joe was born in Hungary September 1st 1930.

Joe was born in difficult times, but it didn’t stop him from joining the olympics with his brothers, and studying Sheet metal and HVAC in germany for over 10 years. Joe had all his certificates In Plumbing, sheet metal and HVAC when leaving Germany and first moving to Montreal in 1954. Joe started working in Ottawa at Websters sheet metal.

Joe met Loucinne in the cold winter of February 1956, where he waa repairing the oil furnace for the building. Joe explained mostly everything in German while repairing the furnace and getting the heat on. Loucinne and Joe then started seeing each other, shortly after getting married in 1957 and having six children. They started Conrad heating in 1959. At the time of their peek they had 20 employees and 3 sales consultants. And where installing 450 furnaces a year. Conrad heating also completed large federal government projects. Conrad heating slowed down when Joe Conrad decided to close it in 2009. Joe left us August 23rd 2018.

Chris worked closely with Joe growing up, working on furnaces and the farm since a young age. Chris learned a hard work ethic at a young age. His first word was Grandpa, and he always heard Conrad around the house. And decided to ask Joe what’s a Conrad, where he said a hard worker and someone that gets the job done. That always stuck with Chris.

Chris took Conrad into another direction, Carpentry. Instilled with the Conrad heritage and hard work ethic. Chris started his apprenticeship right after highschool, Taking his time to learn the trade and craft. Chris received his diploma and finished his training as a Licensed carpenter in may 2013. Chris then decided to carry the family name and started Conrad Construction and Design Inc on June 18th 2013.

Chris started alone, starting with small deck’s. He has completed many high end carpentry jobs. Over the years Conrad Construction has completed many larger projects. Including spa’s downtown, large commercial jobs for Home Depot, full house renovations. Conrad has also completed many investment projects and SDU’s conversions in Ottawa.

Chris will continue doing renovations as it’s his passion, he sees Conrad Construction and Design Inc getting into development in the future. All while keeping the name and history of Conrad alive.
